1.Goto "start"

2.Run-type in "regedit"

3.Goto "local-machine-software-microsoft-window s nt-current version-wpaevents"

4.choose "oobe timer" in the rights panel

5.in the window,delete all the things.

6.close regedit

7.goto start-run-type in "%systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a"

8.choose the second option "use phone to activate"

9.click "change product key"


10.type in the serial:thmpv-77d6f-94376-8hgkg-vrdrq

11.click "update"

12.click"remember later"

13.after that restart the computer

14.after restart goto start-run-type in "%systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a"

15.it should come up with a message"windows activated"-finished!

Click Start and type Disk Cleanup in the Start Search box, then press Enter and follow the onscreen instructions
2. Run "Disk Defragmenter":
Click Start and type Disk Defragmenter in the Start Search box, then press Enter and follow the onscreen instructions (select Defragment Now)
3. Empty the "Windows Prefetch" Directory:
Navigate to C:\Windows\Prefetch and delete all files and folders within, then reboot. After the first couple of reboots, Windows Vista should boot and shutdown faster



Those are just a few tricks that I use to help Windows Vista Boot or Startup and Shutdown quicker. Of course there are many more options like removing programs you never use, stopping programs from launching at startup and reducing Vista eye candy visual effects like Windows Aero.

Keep in mind that just like it's predecessors, Windows Vista will slow down over time as you fill the hard drive with information. Performing these steps at regular intervals should help keep your system speedy and performing well.
